2 Day Tour to Yaroslavl and Rostov
Yaroslavl and Rostov are beautiful medieval towns of Russia. Both are a part of Russia’s Golden Ring of ancient cities. The towns are not far from each other and can be easily visited in one day. You will visit the stunning Kremlin of Rostov and walk along the banks of the Lake Nero, Also you will see the collection of the famous Rostov enamels, explore the charming historic centre of Yroslavl, domed churches and enjoy the views on Volga river.
Day 1: Yaroslavl
Our guide will meet you in the hotel. We transfer you to train station for trip to Yaroslav. At 10:00 pm you will check -in hotel in Yaroslavl. Yaroslavl is a much bigger town on Volga river. Its history goes back to the 11th century. The town was badly damaged during the Tatar-Mongol invasion. It had become Russia’s second largest city after Moscow in the 17th century. During that period 35 stone temples were built by wealthy merchants or city authorities. Among the most significant sights of Yaroslavl are the ensemble of the Savior Monastery, majestic 17th century churches on Volga River.
Day 2: Rostov
After your breakfast you will visit to the Savior Transfiguration Monastery and the Church of Elijah the Prophet. After your lunch you will have bus tour to Rostov.
Rostov the Great is one of the oldest Russian cities, first mentioned in the 9th century. There are 323 monuments of architecture nowadays in Rostov, but the most significant is the Kremlin built in the 17th century. Clusters of domes rising above the walls will really wake up your imagination. Don’t miss the chance to walk along the Kremlin walls and enjoy the splendid views. Rostov is built on the banks of the Lake Nero, there’re not many tourists and the area is very peaceful.
Your train to Moscow will be at 8:00 pm. At Moscow at 11:00 pm your guide will meet you and transfer to your hotel.
